Stage Set design in a Flash!

This past weekend, on the day before of the Hispanic Festival, the committee in charge realized that last year's stage-set not only wasn't available, but it didn't exist anymore! After some panicking moments, they asked me for some help.

I created this emergency giant drawing with spray paint and lots of craft paper.

A team stayed with me for 5-6 hrs. After the first 2 hrs. the fumes were really bad! With some help and a lot of up and downs from the ladders, we finished; it was past midnight.

At the end we cleaned up all the green dust from the stage floor, and with a good shower all the green hair came back to normal. It was really fun!!

The green area was created on purpose, I didn't want to have a busy background since it would distract too much. This way, the dances have a nice green on the back and the dome of the "Spanish-style church" appears through the vegetation. It is like having a dance party on the outer of one city by the high mountains range.

Dedicated to my Peru

Two days ago, I finally finished my latest artwork. It took a little longer that I planned, but here it is... and I enjoyed every moment I sat at my table/easel to work with it. I loved to work on his expression and with his hands and cheeks, burned by the dryness of the air and sun.

Art Classes

Finally!! I can post some pictures of our art classes. My students are great! They are so talented!
They're starting to get the passion for colors, shapes and color combinations.

I love them! Looking at them working hard and doing their best it's like fresh air for me.

Recycling Art Contest

During November, we organized a very interesting contest.

A group of kids, working in teams, had to create a new "something" with some junk items. All of them had the same quantity of things, tools and the same embellisments.

The amazing thing was to see how different could be the final product, and how wonderful are the brain processes of separate people.

As always, I was the most amazed person because of the results. These guyss were fantastic!!

Pyramids in New Jersey?

This weekend was the famous "Festival Hispano". I was in charge of the stage scenery. The topic: Pyramids.

Well, here I am, in my yard, having fun in a gorgeous day...pretty windy though, which cost me some accidents with the paint and the plywood..... and my cell phone.

Of course, none of these things were possible without my dear and cute husband helping me solve all the inconveniences as they appeared.

But, you know what? I had a lot of fun. I cooked early, I brought my music and fruit outside, and the mess started.

I can tell you that I really enjoyed it.

This is the final pyramid, the big one. The other pieces, I worked them inside (basement), and unfortunately I couldn't take pictures.

This was how they looked on the stage. My camera wasn't that good, but after all, the stage was very nice, and the people were happy.
